Isn't she adorable

I have also just learnt how to hand make ribbon roses which are so simple and so awesome, i'm just so impressed at how good they look i had to add a few to the card.

Other bits used were a cuttlebug folder & black soot distress ink, Image coloured using copics and promarkers, Slice die cut word.

Just in time!

OK so who stole all the days this week, i can't believe its Friday already and i've not had a minute to craft until today... luckily though i'm just in time to get my entry in for the Dies 2 Die For challenge where not only do i get a fab sketch {if you know me, you know i LOVE sketches} but i could also win goodies, and super goodies they are too!

So that's the sketch above
...
And this is my card....
I am doing a one to one cute card swap with a friend to get her mojo back up and running, I decided that i would turn the card into an ickle folder full of some cute images i stamped for her.. always nice to get something you don't expect.. unless that is she peeks here first that is! lol
I used 1 sheet of DCWV 12x12 paper for the whole card
The front does have the 2 panels like the sketch but coz the card and lines in paper are a similar colour it almost looks like a single piece of paper {apart from the lines going different ways of course lol!}
I coloured the Gorjuss image using copics.. still trying to perfect the hair shading! getting there slowly!
Finished inside and out with an assortment of gems and gem flowers.
Thanks for stopping by, sorry i've been such a bad blogger, believe me if i didn't have too work i would defiantly be home crafting... but that's real life for ya!
...
Materials used:
DCWV paper, pink ribbon, white fibre,
Gorjuss stamp, Whimsy wording stamp, Copics
an assortment of gems for added bling
mini border punch, vellum, nestie die cut.

Sugar Bowl #11

Yay... i've been playing in the SB again.. and this time the lovely Kathy has produced a fabby sketch
And the prompt was to use Pearls

Just practicing the black and white colouring again on the image gave the whole card a bit of a goth/punk feel so i carried it on using black and pink card and papers, some yummy black lace and gorjuss black mullberry paper roses.
Apart from the fact i think the black pearl headband looks a tad like a monobrow on the image i like how this turned out!

Creative Card Crew #11

This weeks CCC challenge has been set by Tasha
What ya gotta do... well ya gotta SHAPE IT!
Thats shape not shake before you all start moving your hips!
I've never been very good when it comes to shaped cards but having already coloured an image and with the little sequin snowflakes laying in front of me the idea struck to make my card in the shape of a snowflake.
I turned the card inside out and with a pencil, ruler and a keen eye i copied the shape of the sequins.
I then cut it out, rubbed off the pencil lines and turned the card back the right way.
I stuck the image in the centre making a little backing piece to tidy the inside and another in a simular shape so you have somewhere to write your message!

I finished by adding some of the sequins and some stickles for added sparkle.
I folded the bottom middle flake front and back to create a rest for the card to sit correctly.
I think it came out quite good, thanks for the challenge Tasha :O)
..
Materials used:
Blue cardstock, Copics, Promarkers, Sequins, Frosted lace Stickles
Rubbernecker globe & SN Lola with gift stamps

CCC #10

While checking out a new friends blog i found a link to a challenge blog that she's a DT member of.
This week the theme is MINIMAL
Now usually that's so not me but i thought i'd give it a try... i was working on a card and decided it would be the perfect candidate as whats more minimal than a card you cant really see!
I'm talking acetate.. i've wanted to try a clear card for a while as the ones i keep seeing on peeps blogs look so awesome.

I used my ever so cute TGF Deer stamp, coloured with copics and promarkers.
I cut the trees out freehand from BG paper, also making sure i did double so the back looks as good as the front..guess i should of taken a pic of that too.. note to self for next time!
The trunks are cut from a wood effect paper i had, and i put grass effect DCWV paper on the inside and back. I finished with the little sentiment "Deer Friend" also a TGF stamp which was stamped direct to the front panel in timber brown stazon ink.
I defiantly think i'll be making more of these clear cards, they rock!

Club Anya VSN...ICS#16

Well i had a total blast last night.. or should i say this morning.
The Virtual Stamping Night "Luau" begin at 8pm CST!.. {2am GMT just as well i'm a night owl!} over on Paper Craft Planet {like facebook for crafters}
There were 2 challenges and lots of chat... so much i couldn't keep up!
The first challenge was to make a monocromatic card...

As you can see i picked Pink, i embossed the image with clear powder to give a different effect other than my usual black {again this is something i saw and have borrowed from Kim C her blog rocks i tell ya!} I also used some of my free flock {from a mag}.. not really tryed it b4 but think it works well on clothing to give texture and dimension.

I coloured anya with copics and also used a couple of my sakura gel pens.
I used this weeks ICSketch #16 but rotated it 90*

The ickle flowers are all prima and finished with a pink brads and jewelery beads, i love these, they really make the flowers pop.
Basic grey papers also used, along with the new core'dinations whitewash card and a strip of thick pink ribbon {another mag freebie}
I finished using some letter beads for the title.
*****
The second challenge was a to follow a fab sketch

This fab crochet flower was handmade by my boyfriends mum, bless her, i'm currently trying to learn to make them myself!! but having never crocheted b4 its taking a while lol. This card almost made itself as i just grabbed a few bits from my scrap box, i used the flower as the colour inspiration.

The image was partly coloured, so i altered a few places to match her in, again i used copics and a couple of marvy lePlume pens. { I've just found out that i won one of the fab new Anyas }.. how chuffed am i.. looking forward to stamping hula anya when she arrives!

Thank you Team Anya and all the members for a fun party.. look forward to the next!

Sugar Bowl #10

I've had a sweet tooth again, could be something to do with the sweet sweet challenge blog The Sugar Bowl
Not only do i get to use my fav stamps but they have decided to move forward as a sketch challenge, WOO HOO I'm in challenge heaven.
This time round the fab Marlene has provided a super sketch and there is also a prompt....to use buttons!
This is the sketch...

And this is what I've done with it..

I just got myself the Greys set of promarkers after seeing the fab black and white work of Kim Costello in this months Craft Stamper.
Totally inspired i thought i'd give it a try... well mines not quite as good but i think with a bit of practice i could get better.. i'll be trying anyway LOL
I used a cuttlebug embossing folder to create the agapanthus bloom{wish}.
The embossed side i was going to use, i completely fluffed up so turned it over, rubbed it with some black soot distress ink and hay presto its usable again debossed!
I stamped the long blooms {stampendous} in the background and stamped the single bloom {also stampendous} twice onto white card, cutting it to give the edge texture and for it to stand out more, and added a button for the centre which i attached with shiny black thread.
I ribbon used is a fluffy ric rak by papermania and i added a few more smaller buttons to the ends of the embossed blooms for effect. Last but not least i finished with a diecut "hello friend" which is in black core'dinations paper, sanded back to reveal a very pale shade of pink {which isn't showing on the photo}

Double Whammy!

Today i managed to combine 2 challenges for this card
1.Secret Crafter #31 Brads or Eyelets..or both!
2.ICSketches #15

Seeing the shape immediately made me think of a fish tank, who knows why but it did, and as i had just received my new Greeting Farm stamp set "down by the pond" with the most fab fishy i though it would work perfectly.
What do you think?

I used a sheet of K&Co paper in the background to look like wallpaper, Used my Slice to cut the tank shape from some wood grain effect texture paper.
I placed a couple of sheets of blue vellum under the fishy to look like the water, adding eyelets as bubbles. Fishy was stamped with archival black and coloured using my distress re-inkers {working from a pallet and only a tiny drop of each, and some water}
I placed a piece of thick acetate over the whole tank for the glass effect, you can just make it out by the reflection of the flash in the photo, i attached this with some brass coloured big brads.
To finish i wrapped some leaf ribbon round some paper covered wire to be able to bend in place, stamped the greeting and cut it out and placed it on top of the ribbon, as per the sketch.
...
I wasn't sure about the card as i was making it but it all came together nicely!
Thanks for stopping by.. remember to post a comment so i know you've visited :O)

Anya Chic/ Creative Inspirations #6 & #7 {sort of}

There is a great comp happening over at Club Anya in readiness for the new realises of Miss Anya's {I SOOOOO NEED THESE}
The challenge is
Club Anya Couture: Spring Fashion Show 2009
Anyway....
As you may have guessed i am totally addicted to sketches, and thought i'd combine the 2 as over at Creative Inspirations there was a fab sketch....

{I've just gone and looked now to find what i had thought was this weeks.. was actually last weeks and it obviously wasn't updated when i logged on this morning LOL}
Oh well it's done now... and the new theme is Green, Red and Blue.... well i'm nearly there as mines Green PINK and Blue!!!!
I used some papers from my bit box, cuttlebug embossed some pink card, and the strip of green card is an MS punch. I inked round the edge of each piece using coordinating distress inks to highlight. I used an assortment of chipboard pieces and some BG brads to embellish.
Any young girl getting ready for the summer has to pamper herself, and thats just what i did for young Miss Anya, if you hadn't noticed i've given her a bit of a hair cut! She's coloured with copics, giving her shiny silver boots {promarker} and i added a hand made silver rose band to her head... I just learned how to make thse roses from ribbon, its way cool.
I hope this Anya is Chic enough for the fashion show... i can't wait for the 14th
xx Thanks for stoppin by
Hugs for all xx

Secret Crafter #30

There's a blooming great theme this week over at the Secret Crafter
and it's been chosen by DT member {& my mate} Claire.
As its spring time Claire wanted a theme everyone could join in with, so if you haven't already guessed it, the theme this week is...
FLOWERS!
Any sort, any size, anywhere on your card!
I decided to make mine the main feature .
The bloom is one of several i removed from a giant fake flower i got in £1land
I coloured my gorjuss with copics in nice neutral colours, picking out slight highlight colours from the background basic grey and DCWV papers, which i also edge stitched with a white cotton. {practicing with my new hand held machine, hence the wonky lines lol}

I finished by adding half a prima flower to the centre bloom with again an accent coloured bling gem brad, and an "I'm Cute" brad to the bottom corner as it looked bare and empty.

Hope you like my card, thanks for visiting x

Friday Sketcher #50 & ASOS#49

Yep you guessed it... Friday is here and yes that means there is yet another super sketch on Friday Sketchers, this time provided by the lovely Beatrix from Germany.

And here is my take on it

My downstairs neighbour's daughter has just had a baby boy so thought it the perfect opportunity to make a card and use another of my new Gorjuss girl stamps, which as usual I coloured with my copics..{i really must try some other mediums lol}

I matt and layered 3 random bits of scrap paper {think they were a freebie mag gift} onto textured card, and edged each with a respective distress ink, i used my postage edge scissors for the main image layer. I edged the main body of the card with distress ink as well.

Pieced it all together, adding the ribbon, crochet flower with twizzles, and used good old fashioned peel-offs for the wording, highlighting the word boy with a couple of chipboard brackets.

Looking at my finished card i realised i had now completed 2 challenges as over at A Spoon Full of Sugar the theme this week is Blue and Green.
Thanks for visiting, come back soon xx
