Cute Card Thursday #58

...Mirror Mirror!
This time round over at CCT the prompt is to use something shiny on your cards!

Well i didn't want to go for a big shiny piece of card so opted for a more subtle inclusion and have an assortment of little things instead.
The skull {minxyart stamp} was stamped onto TSS pink metal, and cut out, the ickle shiny eyelets were added to give a lace up effect, of which i threaded pink metallic cord through.
I used 2 DCWV rockstar papers and a sheet of blackmagic core'denations which i sanded and roughed up to let the pink colour shine through.
The gorjuss images is coloured using my copics, and i added a small black bead chain as a headband.
I gathered a piece of lace and used tiny black brads to pin each gather in place, I stamped the zip {minxyart stamp} and gave it some definition using a silver promarker on the opposite side to balance and finish the card. The tag {also metal} has a "rock" dymo type label attached.
I hope there is enough "shiny" on my card to please the CCT team!
Thanks for stopping by, come back any time xx

Birthday Girl

This is a card i created using another set of my very own design stamps.
It is my friend Claire's birthday today and the card was for her. I hope she liked it!
I stamped the tree on brown paper and cut out, did the same with the owl but on patterned paper and gave him some more defination by colouring some features with my copics.
To make the tree pop i added an assortment of green prima flowers to act like branches.
Not sure if it's allowed yet but i'll be entering again {or trying to} Nikki's great Imagepac comp, click here for details...

Thanks for stopping by, Have a great Day xx

ICSketches #14

This week over at ICS the fabby Dawn has provided us with yet another super sketch

And here is what i created...

I've kept this one quite simple and under embellished as i didn't want to detract from the eyelet/brad bubbles which i think turned out quite good.

And practice is making perfect, as with each passing image i'm slowly but surely getting better at this copic/promarker colouring lark!
Amazingly i didn't use any basic grey papers on this card!! but some scraps from my box, think the pink leaf was a freebie out of a mag and the check from an old mixed block, along with some faithful textured card.
I coloured the Gorjuss girl with my copics and the eyelets/gromlits are from the set i received with my big bite case. The foiled wording was also something that came from a bits & bobs swap pack. I edged the card and check paper with a gold pen to tie it all together.
Thanks for visiting, Have a great day x

Friday Sketcher #49

This weeks super cool Friday Sketchers sketch is by Murielle {Mumur} from France!
...
I loved it, but for my card i did turn it 90 degrees so that i could use my absolute favourite new gorjuss stamp!
..

As usual i resorted to a selection of basic gray papers, {i just love them them, can't you tell lol} think i used the Scarlet's letter pad

I coloured the gorjuss image with both copics and promarkers, and used a labels 2 nestie to frame her.
I used a selection of Stitchel stamps {the hearts and the flowers} which i stamped and heat embossed.
The flowers i doubled up to give dimension and added various brads from my new black brad assortment brought at Ally Pally :O)

I finished with a wire word created by hand using both a blue and silver wire and added a silver wings bead too emphasize the word.

Not meaning to sound vain but i am super chuffed with how this came out, the colours at first seemed a bit off but now I've looked at it for a while i love it, hope you do too!

Thanks for visiting, nice comments spread love... do your bit won't you :Op

Truly Scrumptious #5

This time round over at Truly Scrumptious
Michele has given us this fab sketch
With the prompt that the card has to be for a child.
...
I actually didn't think i had any children to make for but went ahead anyways and after i had finished, what did i spy on my calender.. yep my friends little boy will be 2 at the end of may...how perfect lol
...

And here is my creation...
I used a selection of basic grey archaic papers and some DCWV textured card
The dino was one my friend Claire stamped for me so i have no idea where he is from, but he's well cute! I coloured him using both copics and promarkers.
I used a couple of leafy punches to add dimension, and stamped an invoke art blank ticket and filled it with the word explore.
..
Thanks for stopping by, leave a comment and you'll make my day!

Spoon Full Of Sugar

Challenge - Sketch by Caryn
And what a fab sketch it is...
And here is what i did with it...
I used a piece of offbeat BG paper and some off cuts of bazzil card for the strips.
Now my center shape is a tad off centre but that's only coz i used my new slice and misjudged where the shape would cut, well i am learning lol
I placed my copic coloured gorjuss image behind the cut out.
Again used a few more offcuts of bazzil in the same colours to make the sort of flower which i finished with a brad and silver spacer {i love these} and cut a couple of swirls again with the slice, and finished with a little foiled greeting, oh and i doodled the edges of the card in gold just to break up the plain edge.
Thanks for stopping by, comments always welcome :O)

Sugar Bowl #8 - Tiets Sketch #2

Well this is my very first time playing along in The Sugar Bowl and to be honest it was a bit of a challenge.. i haven't quite mastered the art of combining lots of different patterned papers and making it look good, i feel there is definatly a fine line between WOW and OMG yuck lol.. i'm hoping that mine comes under the first lol

Anyhow here it is my attempt at this great sketch by Tiets

I coloured one of my FAB gorjuss girls using copics,
used a selection of random scraps of paper i had in my box,
and created the wording using my around the block label maker.
I finished with a smirk brad that i wrapped some black funky fibre around.

Thanks for stopping by.... and please leave a comment it makes my day.
I'm off to Ally Pally this weekend so wont be blogging for about a week... but hoping to return arms full of yummy pretty stash!

Secret Crafter #27

Well another day, and another challenge..
this time round its the Secret Crafter capturing my imagination.
Donna has provided not only a fab sketch but also a colour combo entitled "Chocolate Orange"
so here's the sketch..

and here's my creation...

I think i got a little carried away with my embellishing!

I'm loving the Miss Anya stamps but still not quite got the hang of colour or shading... i seriously need a master class or 3 lol, and a whole load more copic pens.

Anyway.. thanks for stopping by, feel free to comment, nice ones make my day :O)

Copic Colour Challenge #8/ Friday Sketchers #47

Well as you may have seen i'm trying to improve my copic skill so decided to combine 2 challenges this time. Over at Copic Colour Challenge you have to use colours RV29~E57~YG67, with the added challenge of using a Toodle & Binks stamp... Well unfortunately i only had 1 of those in my copic selection {it's not very big yet},
so i used the closest colours i own which were RV23~E57~YG63
{Well 1 out of 3 aint bad lol} and i have managed to sneak in the T&B tree stamp & wording too!
So with the colouring sorted i needed a sketch to follow and Friday Sketchers had the perfect one by Jacqueline

**

And here is my creation...

I used a basic grey paper,
my L-Em leafy punch,
some ribbon and lace and
a die cut banner to print the wording onto.
All in all i think it came out ok.

Thanks for stopping by, please feel free to leave comments, they make my day x

Truly Scrumptious #4

They've gone Flower Power mad over at truly scrumptious
That's the theme this time round, along with a fab sketch provided by Mina.
***
***
And here is my creation

***
I used my nesties for the circles, one in textured card and the other in felt, the background paper is one from the BG "stella ruby" pad, and the flowers are Prima, centered with some funky fibre.

I coloured young miss Anya with my Lyra crayons, i'm slowly getting to grips with shading, but still i missed her face, so she looks a bit pale, i'll get there one day i'm sure!
Thanks for dropping by, feel free to leave a comment, it really makes my day x

Inner Beauty

Hay there blogland, I know i have listed this place as a haven for the sweet and true but i just had to share with you my very first card featuring one of my very own Minxy Art Stamps.
I was lucky enough to receive an Imagebox for christmas, so i can now happily design & make my very own stamps. I hadn't really had time to actually do that until now, but a cracking competition run by Nikki over at Dew Drop Craftz gave me the kick up the bum i needed to knock a set or 2 out.
All you have to do to enter is to make a card using your own stamps and show a pic of both {more details on her blog}
so here is my Pandora card...

and here is my Pandora stamp set

Now as you may see there are a couple of subtle changes with Pandora's face, after making the stamps i decided that she needed some work on her eyes and a fringe {which for times sake i just drew on} I coloured her using copics

I used a sheet of "rockstar" paper by DCWV, stamped sid the spider, then stamped the smaller skull onto a circle of textured black card, which i scuffed & coloured the edges of. I lay several ribbon and lace strips and used the larger skull to create an embellishment, i finished the skull with a tiny amount of distress stickles on the eyes.

I would very much love your opinions of these stamps, i know they're not the cutest in the world !! but i like em, and hope you do too {they may be launched for sale soon in limited numbers!}

Thanks for visiting, come back soon.

Sketch Saturday #45

Over on Sketch Saturday it's Tracie at the helm and today's sketch looks like this..

I decided to turn the sketch 90* to fit an already coloured Miss Anya image i had done using lyra crayons.. i'm still very much on a learning curve with my colouring so forgive the lack of depth and tone. Practice makes perfect....right!
..

I have used 4 of the basic grey "blush" papers, some of which were stitched using a hand held machine {again still learning, hence the wonkyness lol} and the rest were rough edged using a craft knife.

I finished off with prima flowers, an assortment of brads, and piece of gorgeous lace.
I hope this ticks all the boxes for this challenge, i had real fun putting it all together.

Thanks for stopping by

Quick Cutie

This is a very quick thank you card i made for a friend.
I stamped and coloured a Magnolia image using copics,
Cut a couple of scalloped circles with my nesties in purple felt,
Matted the image onto the circles.
I finished by adding some foliage cut with my new L-Em punches
and edged the card with a sakura silver metallic ink pen
...
As you can see i still have alot to learn when it comes to copic colouring but i'm slowly learning!
