Love is in the air!

Well no sooner is the new year over and already i'm thinking Valentines!
Over at A Spoon Full of Sugar there theme this week is 'Hearts'

I used a great sketch courtesy of this weeks Inspirational Sketches #48
This is my first crafty make of 2010 and boy did it feel good to get crafting again, sad i know but true! I used a mix of BG papers, Devil Tilda was coloured with my trusty copics, but i removed her wings as i didn't like the colour i used, and i think she looks cool without them. I hand stitched some of the edges, and used a bit of heart sequin waste too. The love word was cute out on my Slice.

A Friend for Always!

Artistic Stamper CT meets A Spoon full of Sugar.

I found a great sketch over at a spoon full of sugar and having just coloured one of the gorgeous Mabel images {available @ The Artistic Stamper} there was no excuse not to join in.
Now i know this may shock some of you but i didn't.. i repeat i didn't use copics...
I know I know totally unheard of! lol
Instead i had a play with watercolour paper and my marvy leplume II pens that had been gathering dust from lack of use.
I have to admit the image i used was not the first, or second...in fact it was about the 3 or 4th attempt to get it right without bleeding and bad skin colouring.. but i got there in the end.
I used my label nesties which i distressed with sandpaper, and embellished with some of my scrunch blooms and an L-Em leaf punch.
Hope you like it, and thanks for stopping by.

A Trio of Challenges

My friend Claire wanted to have a go at making an Easel card... I'd never even heard of them b4 but she sent me a link and after seeing the samples i figured how hard could it be!

Too simple is the answer but the results are just stunning in my opinion.. and you'll defiantly be seeing more of them from me.

I included 2 pics as I've still not learnt how to use my flash camera to get the best pic!!!

I used my most favourite 'Guardian Angel' gorjuss for Totally Gorjuss's 1st ever challenge.. there theme being 'Pink'... the fab Sketch is one by Caryn over at A Spoon Full of Sugar... and as i used my fav embellishments of paper flowers and pretty ribbon i entered it in this weeks Paper Play Challenge too!
Thanks for stopping by...
...and if you didn't already know i still have candy on offer!

A Spoon Full of Sugar #66

Not had much proper time to craft what with all the wedding stuff but i finally managed to make my card for the latest Spoon Full of Sugar challenge which is a great sketch from Sonja

And here is my creation.. yep its another christmas one.. i'm really trying hard this year to get ahead lol

It actually came out quite pretty, very soft and girly...not really me but it is cute!
This is another first time using of this particular stamp..think its called Hug in a Mug!
{i have several more i must try to get inked.. namely the new miss anyas!}
I used a mix of DCWV crimbo papers and some pearl crimbo papers i got cheap at ally pally last year, the image is coloured with copics and mounted on an MS punched edge piece of parchment paper and embellished with lots of snowflakes, in eyelet, brad and charm form.
Thanks for visiting me.. have a great week and come back again soon x

I used one of my fabby gorjuss from set 3, coloured her with the usual....copics!
Papers are DCWV, and i embellished with some button snowflakes, and glossy accented the wording which was already printed on the backing paper.
I'm also entering Dutch Dare as this weeks prompt is to use Lace, and although you can't see much of it i have used a lace doily.
Sorry the photo came out a bit naff and glarey was trying to take it before i lost all daylight!

One little card...so many challenges!

OK so i've kinda gone all out on this one and managed to combine 6 different challenges which i think is a record for me.
...
Firstly i followed Donna's fab sketch over at Stamping for the Weekend #5, Pile It On has the prompt to use 3 different embellishments, then there is both Secret Crafter #39 which is to use 3 ribbons and Creative Card Crew #18 which also has ribbons as their prompt.
I managed to squeeze in some Hearts to fulfill the challenge over at A Spoon Full of Sugar #59 and last but by no means least Just Magnolia #12 has Charms as there prompt.

...
I had to make the card in a hurry as i was only told today it was needed for saturday! to be posted tomorrow!!!

but i got there in the end, and i don't think it came out half bad, in fact am rather quite chuffed with it lol
Thanks for coming to visit me, come back any time x
...

Materials used: Magnolia stamp coloured with Copics, Slice & Studio Essentials cartridge,My minds eye papers, various ribbons, vintage buttons, foil die cut text,Prima flowers & mulberry paper roses, gold charms and WeR metal corner.

A Spoon Full of Sugar #58

Another day, another Ketto!
{i'm just so loving these stamps}
Now although it's not an all out summer style card, i thought it was quite summery! so for that reason i've cheekily entered it for this weeks challenge over at ASFOS
The theme being
SUMMER.
Image coloured with copics, I used my nesties for the shapes and l-em punch for the foliage, the large flower i hand cut from corrugated card, with the smaller ones using a woodware punch.
I used my label maker for the text, and the background stamps are stitchels {available here}
Thanks for stopping by x

Friday Sketcher #50 & ASOS#49

Yep you guessed it... Friday is here and yes that means there is yet another super sketch on Friday Sketchers, this time provided by the lovely Beatrix from Germany.

And here is my take on it

My downstairs neighbour's daughter has just had a baby boy so thought it the perfect opportunity to make a card and use another of my new Gorjuss girl stamps, which as usual I coloured with my copics..{i really must try some other mediums lol}

I matt and layered 3 random bits of scrap paper {think they were a freebie mag gift} onto textured card, and edged each with a respective distress ink, i used my postage edge scissors for the main image layer. I edged the main body of the card with distress ink as well.

Pieced it all together, adding the ribbon, crochet flower with twizzles, and used good old fashioned peel-offs for the wording, highlighting the word boy with a couple of chipboard brackets.

Looking at my finished card i realised i had now completed 2 challenges as over at A Spoon Full of Sugar the theme this week is Blue and Green.
Thanks for visiting, come back soon xx

Spoon Full Of Sugar

Challenge - Sketch by Caryn
And what a fab sketch it is...
And here is what i did with it...
I used a piece of offbeat BG paper and some off cuts of bazzil card for the strips.
Now my center shape is a tad off centre but that's only coz i used my new slice and misjudged where the shape would cut, well i am learning lol
I placed my copic coloured gorjuss image behind the cut out.
Again used a few more offcuts of bazzil in the same colours to make the sort of flower which i finished with a brad and silver spacer {i love these} and cut a couple of swirls again with the slice, and finished with a little foiled greeting, oh and i doodled the edges of the card in gold just to break up the plain edge.
Thanks for stopping by, comments always welcome :O)
