Having a spring break!!!

As you may be able to tell from previous posts i'm a little bit of a humbug when it comes to christmas...
So when my brand spanking New Release MABEL'S arrived it really brightened my day... This one in particular is just the cutest ever
It's called 'Nature's Little Helper' and is 1 of 3 new mabels released today @ The Artistic Stamper
I coloured the image by lifting ink straight from my versa colour mini cube pads with a waterbrush.. which worked ok.. gives quite a nice creamy watercolour finish, and it made a nice change from my usual copics.
I made my own background paper by using the AS Dotty background stamp. I also made my own flowers using the flower power plate and the Mini Lattice stamp.
I used my MS doily lace and SU oval and scalloped oval punches. And finished with several gems to add that little bit of sparkle!
The sketch i used is this weeks Mojo Monday challenge.
Creative Inspirations has a 'Sparkle' theme and
Creative Card Crew is 'Strings Attached'
Thanks for stopping by...

It's Raining Sweets!

I wanted to have an ickle break from cards so decided to make a little treat bag instead. I had the idea a few weeks ago when one of the challenges was to use acetate, i never quite made that one, but seeing as Stamp Scrap & Doodle has the theme this week 'anything but a card' it was the perfect excuse to finish it off. This also fits in with Papertake Weekly with their theme 'Spots n Stripes'

I created the box without any instructions, just had a little play and this is what i came up with. The lid is held on with the ribbon that you see, It loops on 2 sides and then ties underneath. I used my 'Rainy day' Mabel stamp available @ The Artist Stamper.

I coloured her with copics, the cut and mounted her to the outside of the box which is actually a hanging piece.
The 'friend' you can see in the back is part of another stamp from the mabel range.

I filled with yummy dolly mixtures as a nice little treat for someone!
Now its just a case of deciding who gets that treat!
{and before anyone mentions it.. yeah i've just seen i put the wrong month on my photos lol.. dozey mare i am. but tecnically i did make it in oct {just!!}

A Friend for Always!

Artistic Stamper CT meets A Spoon full of Sugar.

I found a great sketch over at a spoon full of sugar and having just coloured one of the gorgeous Mabel images {available @ The Artistic Stamper} there was no excuse not to join in.
Now i know this may shock some of you but i didn't.. i repeat i didn't use copics...
I know I know totally unheard of! lol
Instead i had a play with watercolour paper and my marvy leplume II pens that had been gathering dust from lack of use.
I have to admit the image i used was not the first, or second...in fact it was about the 3 or 4th attempt to get it right without bleeding and bad skin colouring.. but i got there in the end.
I used my label nesties which i distressed with sandpaper, and embellished with some of my scrunch blooms and an L-Em leaf punch.
Hope you like it, and thanks for stopping by.

Puppy Love!

Another day, another challenge card... I tell ya if it wasn't for all the fab blogs out there with their weekly prompts i don't think i'd ever get a card made!
This time i managed to join in with 3 of saturdays challenges
'Our Creative Corner' the prompt Monochromatic Madness
I chose classic black and white.
'The Secret Crafter' was Animal Antics, and for this i used 'hugs to share' one of the brand new range of Mabel Lucie Attwell stamps now available @ The Artistic Stamper and lastly 'Sketch Saturday'.

I'm still very much learning to colour with the black and gray copics.. but practice can only make you better so i keep on trying lol I've only just noticed but i managed to make this card with not one single patterned paper.. that has to be a first! Instead i used a piece of embossed textured card and lots of black soot distress ink!

Oh i see Papertake Weekly has the colour prompt Black -White + one.. and seeing as there is a tiny bit of green on my card i thought i'd enter that one too lol

{materials used: textured card, black soot distress ink, ek border punch, prima flowers, other flowers from my stash, black glitz brads, black lace, acrylic tag and label maker}

Mabel Lucie Attwell Stamps are Here!

Oh how very exciting... Finally this weekend sees The Artistic Stamper launch a brand new set of 6 fab stamps ...With more designs to follow in the upcoming months by the much loved children's artist

Mabel Lucie Attwell

For those of you who have not heard of her, she was a well known illustrator of books and postcards and became a household name during the 1930’s and 40’s with her illustrations of pudgy and appealing toddlers. I personally can remember having the books as a child, so to get a chance to be one of the first to play with these stamps was a real joy. Although keeping the secret about them till now was a challenge lol. The stamps are available to buy HERE or if your going along to Ally Pally this weekend you can get them from Jennie @ The Stamp Connection stand

Above i have used the "Friends" stamp coloured with copics and distress inks, some pretty papers and a few buttons is all you need to make gorgous cards to give to family members or friends.
You can see another card I made using one of the other stamps here.. and also check out the other Creative Design Team blogs for more inspiration.
