The Sweetest Thing

Ok so I pretty much have all my crimbo cards out the way now, and i needed a little break from it all... What better way to do that than to pick a couple of challenges and and get lost in my paper and ink...

I finally caved in and brought a couple of Tilda's i've been hankering after for ages and ages.. Perfect for joining in with the Just Magnolia challenge this week and there fabby sketch.. I also just noticed that this fits in perfect with the Magnolia Down Under challenge too, as there theme is 'Stamp with another use' and seeing as i've used one of the new christmas Tilda's as a valentines/love card i think it qualifies!

The colour combo of Pink, Burgundy and Ivory was courtesy of Colour Create

And i managed to fit in Quixotic Challenge #7: Lace
I'm also joining in with the
Creative Card Crew #41 Anything Goes and using this chance to enter there DT call, wish me luck :)
I've used BG papers, old book pages cut using the smallest nestie ovals, and paper roses from stash, I also popped on a couple of pins and used a feather to pretty it up. I threaded a thin red ribbon through the lace so i was able to gather it slighty.
Tilda was coloured with copics and then highlighted with my new and totally awsome coloursoft pencils..
I finally invested in some new paper too.. I've been told the paper makes all the differance but as i'm still learning i'm a tad clueless, I was using just a text and graphic smooth 160gsm, but got myself some cartridge paper.. one smooth 150gsm and one slightly rougher 180gsm, i've used the 180gsm on this piece, and i have to say i am impressed with the results.. the copics are a little harder to work with, just because the paper wants to suck the colour from the pen, so time and a gentle hand are needed, but definatly worth it.
Thanks for stopping by, and a very Happy Christmas to all my Blog Friends and Visitors x

Non Tradish Christmas Sugar!

I finally got around to getting sticky again in
and this time the fabulous Marlene provided the sketch
with the added prompt to use 'Zig Zags'
Again i've used the ever so lovely sugar nellie 'Peace Angel' by Diane Duda coloured with my lyra crayons and a water brush.
The papers are a mix of BG and CC with an embossed snowflake panel and some corrugated card.. all of which i distressed the edges and inked with aged mahogany DI.
This also fits in with
Papertake Weekly 'Christmas Crackers'
Creative Card Crew 'Favourite Things'
{my sugar nellie stamps}
Allsorts 'Christmas carol or song title'
{Angels from the realms of glory!}
Thanks for looking

Having a spring break!!!

As you may be able to tell from previous posts i'm a little bit of a humbug when it comes to christmas...
So when my brand spanking New Release MABEL'S arrived it really brightened my day... This one in particular is just the cutest ever
It's called 'Nature's Little Helper' and is 1 of 3 new mabels released today @ The Artistic Stamper
I coloured the image by lifting ink straight from my versa colour mini cube pads with a waterbrush.. which worked ok.. gives quite a nice creamy watercolour finish, and it made a nice change from my usual copics.
I made my own background paper by using the AS Dotty background stamp. I also made my own flowers using the flower power plate and the Mini Lattice stamp.
I used my MS doily lace and SU oval and scalloped oval punches. And finished with several gems to add that little bit of sparkle!
The sketch i used is this weeks Mojo Monday challenge.
Creative Inspirations has a 'Sparkle' theme and
Creative Card Crew is 'Strings Attached'

An al'white' card!

It's just as well The Sugar Bowl is fortnightly or else I'd of been pretty late with my entry..
I finally managed to find a bit of time this week to do a spot of the old crafting...
...where are the days flying off too i do wonder!
Kathy provided the fab sketch with the added prompt to use 'Lace'
Colour Create had 'all white' as the chosen colour this time round.. or should that be non colour!
This was actually harder than i thought, trying to think of ways to make the white 'pop' so i had to add a teeny tiny bit of colour just to define the edges or else it would of looked pants! Hope it still counts!
...
I was going to leave the image very bare, put a slight wash of antique linen distress ink over the entire thing.. but it looked too bare so i used a couple of my lightest copic colours over the top and it turned out really pretty i think... i may just have to colour in this way again as i really like the muted tones.
I finished by adding a coat of my new rock candy crackle paint to the image {although the pic doesn't really show it very well} i also added some of the rock candy stickles to the snowflake and that too looks very subtle but very cool.
This card also fits in with the Creative Card Crew theme this week which is 'snowflakes'
& Winter Wonderland which has an 'open theme'
Thanks for taking the time to stop by...

'Spooky'lisious

With the theme of 'Scallops' this week over at Creative Card Crew how could i resist not joining in ... especially as i had the perfect project in mind!
...
Come halloween my partners parents house gets about 50 kids trick or treating so i thought i'd help with the prep work by making a whole stash of fun treat tags for the goody bags she makes.
The little spider stamp i used on the tags is one I designed and made myself... i know its pretty simple but i think it works!
I also decided to have a bit of fun with one of my miss anyas and an old jam jar!
This anya was totally inspired by one i had seen coloured by my friend Tasha with green hair.. i decided to go one further and make her a real witch!

I think the little skull finishes it off a treat..

CCC #19 ~ CC#23 ~ FS#61

Managed to join in 3 challenges with this card
Creative Card Crew had the prompt to "Create a Scene"
Colour Create this week was "Blue and White" with an added prompt of "vintage"
and
Friday Sketcher, well they provided the sketch obviously lol
this one created by Jacqueline

Not quite sure about the vintage part of the CC challenge but i tryed with a paper doily and some vintage photo distress ink!

I managed to use NO designer papers and insteed used a wallpaper sample, and some die cut tree's and snowflakes to "create the scene". This Snowman is another of Dustin Pike's fab freebie download images. Coloured with copics and cut out so i could place him amoungst the trees!
Finished with a couple of prima blooms of which i added some of the paper doily as centers as they looked kinda snowflake like, and i put a very tiny flake eyelet in the centre.
I added some clear zooms to the tiny flakes down the side to give then some depth.
I'm not 100% sure if i like how it came out, but maybe it will grow on me!
Thanks for hopping by!

One little card...so many challenges!

OK so i've kinda gone all out on this one and managed to combine 6 different challenges which i think is a record for me.
...
Firstly i followed Donna's fab sketch over at Stamping for the Weekend #5, Pile It On has the prompt to use 3 different embellishments, then there is both Secret Crafter #39 which is to use 3 ribbons and Creative Card Crew #18 which also has ribbons as their prompt.
I managed to squeeze in some Hearts to fulfill the challenge over at A Spoon Full of Sugar #59 and last but by no means least Just Magnolia #12 has Charms as there prompt.

...
I had to make the card in a hurry as i was only told today it was needed for saturday! to be posted tomorrow!!!

but i got there in the end, and i don't think it came out half bad, in fact am rather quite chuffed with it lol
Thanks for coming to visit me, come back any time x

Materials used: Magnolia stamp coloured with Copics, Slice & Studio Essentials cartridge,My minds eye papers, various ribbons, vintage buttons, foil die cut text,Prima flowers & mulberry paper roses, gold charms and WeR metal corner.

CCC #10

While checking out a new friends blog i found a link to a challenge blog that she's a DT member of.
This week the theme is MINIMAL
Now usually that's so not me but i thought i'd give it a try... i was working on a card and decided it would be the perfect candidate as whats more minimal than a card you cant really see!
I'm talking acetate.. i've wanted to try a clear card for a while as the ones i keep seeing on peeps blogs look so awesome.

I used my ever so cute TGF Deer stamp, coloured with copics and promarkers.
I cut the trees out freehand from BG paper, also making sure i did double so the back looks as good as the front..guess i should of taken a pic of that too.. note to self for next time!
The trunks are cut from a wood effect paper i had, and i put grass effect DCWV paper on the inside and back. I finished with the little sentiment "Deer Friend" also a TGF stamp which was stamped direct to the front panel in timber brown stazon ink.
I defiantly think i'll be making more of these clear cards, they rock!
